Key Highlights
Today, we discovered a new video concerning the Rivian EDV – or, more precisely, a pre-production prototype found at a fast-charging station.
The video provides an excellent view of the vehicle, though according to the description, the driver was not pleased with the van's recording.
Given some features, it looks to be the same type as another early unit spotted in December 2021 in Woodhaven, Michigan (south of Detroit).
Amazon is the primary driver behind Rivian's commercial van product, which is expected to get an order for 100,000 units by the end of 2025, with 10,000 units delivered in 2022.

Today, we discovered a new video concerning the Rivian EDV – or, more precisely, a pre-production prototype found at a fast-charging station.
The video provides an excellent view of the vehicle, though according to the description, the driver was not pleased with the van's recording. According to the video description, the "driver tried to call the cops on me."
Given some features, it looks to be the same type as another early unit spotted in December 2021 in Woodhaven, Michigan (south of Detroit).
In November, a few white units were spotted, as were blue ones in September in California (the vans were actually seen testing in multiple other locations). Additionally, EDVs were spotted in Amazon's fleet in New York City.
Amazon is the primary driver behind Rivian's commercial van product, which is expected to get an order for 100,000 units by the end of 2025, with 10,000 units delivered in 2022.
Rivian's all-electric EDV vans may have already begun limited production (customer vehicles), with the first few manufacturing units possibly being supplied to Amazon (at least, that was the target for 2021). Rivian discloses just the overall numbers of electric vehicle manufacturing (1,015) and deliveries (920) for the year and keeps mute on development.
According to previously disclosed information, the EDV will be available in a variety of configurations, including three different lengths. It should eventually be made available to fleets other than Amazon's.
